This and That

So the ol' blog has gotten a little on the dusty side....we've been busy busy, busy! We had two girls stay with us again this past summer (2011) for a month. One was from China and the other was from Thailand. Then we were contacted by CETUSA and asked if we would like to host a student for the full school year....soooo since August 2011 we've had Satoko staying with us (she'll be here until the end of June). She is 17 years old and from Japan. She fits in so well with our family and is very good with the boys ~ and the boys are pretty wild about her ~ especially Doodle Bird! Last night while Bug and Weston were at soccer practice, Satoko and Bean were doing origami ~ Doodle was making requests ~ he asked Satoko to make his a big pterodactyl. Bean made two paper cranes and was very proud of his accomplishments =)
Bean joined Cub Scouts last fall, so that has been fun for him (and rather time consuming for us) and now Bug thinks that he might want to join Cub Scouts this fall.
Soccer is back in full swing. Bean played indoor soccer this winter and now spring soccer has started. Bean had his first game last Saturday (of which he scored the first goal of the season ~ YAY! And their team ended up winning.....which was great, because they've lost all but one indoor soccer game) and this Saturday all three boys have soccer games. Weston is coaching Bug's team and I got roped into coaching Doodle's team (Under 6 years old team) and Bean is on the "big boy" team that travels to other towns for half of their games. It is always interesting to see how the games line up and if Weston is going to have to coach for me because I need to get Bean to another town for his game...thankfully we only have one conflicting game this year and Bean's coach is going to take him, so both Weston and I will be able to stay here and coach our own teams.
If I get some time, I'll post pictures from our trip to Disney World (we went to FL over spring break and stayed with Weston's grandparents) this year since Satoko said it was her dream to go there (we were planning on going next year when we'd saved up a little more for it, but since it was one of her dreams, we went this year so Satoko could go) ~ it was a lot of fun....I've never seen such big smiles...especially on Satoko =)
